Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has assured workers of the state that they will receive their salaries this week to enable them celebrate Christmas. Governor Ortom who gave the assurance yesterday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, North Bank, Makurdi, said he had directed that payment of salaries should commence today. He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to transparency and accountability, stating that he had been able to restore the confidence of majority of the people in government.

This twin Sisters named Mannat and Jannat were born conjoined at the lower chest and abdomen were successfully separated under surgery. This medical condition which is known as omphalopagus is rare but happens when the fetus from the mother's womb is not properly separated before forming. Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of murder after a South African appeals court overturned the earlier manslaughter verdict for killing his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorious is currently under house arrest after spending one year of his original five-year sentence behind bars, Pistorius will have to return to court to be re-sentenced, for murder, BBC News reported.
