The Nigerian police, Bauchi command, has arrested a notorious Boko Haram commander. The suspect was identified as 25 year-old Muhammad Adamu Nafiu. Nafiu reportedly confessed to killing of over 150 people in Baga local government, Borno state The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Bauchi command, has announced the arrest of a 25 year old Boko Haram commander identified as Muhammad Adamu Nafiu. NAIJ.com learnt that the Bauchi state commissioner of police, Garba Baba Umar, in a statement on Wednesday, April 19, said Nafiu is a notorious Boko Haram leader, who ran away from Sambisa forest after it was taken over by the Nigerian army.

As insurgent Boko Haram strength wanes, the Nigerian army reported more caches of weapons and supplies were uncovered in raids across northeastern Nigeria. In clearing remnants of the militant Islamist organization from their forest hideouts, troops found hidden arms, NATO-style ammunition, a mortar tube and an underground facility in which food was stored. The abducted victims who are mostly women and girls claims that, some of schoolgirls who were kidnapped about two years ago were pregnant and still alive. Leadership reports that one of the rescued Boko Haram victims, simply identified as Zara, claimed to have met some of the abducted girls at a village called Njimiya when they were escaping from insurgents during a military onslaught.

THE authorities of the Nigerian Army has denied reports of the lost of about 105 soldiers of the 157 Division fighting the Boko Haram sect in the Northeast, saying what happened was "a slight set back" that is not strange during military operations. The acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a five-line message that the troops reported to be missing have rejoined their Commanding Officer (CO) and they are together, while the situation had been brought under control.

The Nigerian Army has lost a lot of important Military personnel to this dreaded terrorist group called Boko Haram. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) through its intensified and persistent efforts in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram Terrorists has intercepted over 4,000 drums and jerrycans of petroleum products and other smuggled items. The items, suspected to be supplies meant for Boko Haram Terrorists, were confiscated from the smugglers in Pepe, Dashin-Hausa, Belel Bilachi, and Konkul villages located along the Nigeria-Cameroon Borders on Tuesday, 28 July 2015. The NAF was able to achieve the recent feat through its air patrol activities, covering both land and water, along the Nigeria-Cameroon boarders. The NAF has continued to identify and destroy BHT camps and resupplies by employing surveillance and combat aircraft.
