Its was reported early this morning that Nigerian singer Terry G was involved in a ghastly car accident in Lagos at around 6am. The crazy music artist has to thank God for his life as we can see how badly damaged his car was. According to an eye witness, the terrible accident occurred between the first and second roundabout in Lekki precisely when he (Terry G) was returning from a night club. His new Range Rover Sport veered off the road and landed in a gutter along with a commercial bus. The car was reportedly damaged but sources disclosed that, Terry G and other people in the car were not hurt except the driver who was badly injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital. At the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja few hours ago, the apex court in Nigeria affirms the conviction of General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King to die by hanging. In a unanimous judgment on Friday afternoon, a seven-man panel of Justices of the apex court led by Justice Walter Onnoghen, upheld the death sentence that was earlier handed to Ezeugo by the Lagos State High Court.

Nigerian Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has tender his resignation much to the surprise of everybody. The former Nigerian skipper who was hired just seven months ago, announced his resignation on Twitter few hours ago said he took the decision due to the inability of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to honour the terms of his contract. “Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, assistant coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach,” he tweeted. According to Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), over 1.5 million candidates registered for the 2016 examination and some of the registered JAMB candidates will commence writing their examination tomorrow. JAMB Registrar Dibu Ojerinde made this remark in a statement yesterday. The Professor has warn Nigerians to make use of their mosquito nets due to the presence of the mosquitoes carrying the Zika virus in the country in other to avoid spread. During a press briefing last Thursday in Abuja, the Health Minister disclosed that the mosquitoes carrying the zika virus are currently active and flying around in the country and nobody should disregard the use of mosquito nets to avoid contact to this deadly viral disease.

Nigeria has launch its first ever high speed train service that will start operation in March 2016. It is the double-track, standard gauge between Abuja and Kaduna that runs at 120Km and 150 Km an hour. In March, travelers will be able to journey from Abuja to Kaduna (and vice-versa) in less than an hour.

The late Tor Tiv IV HRM Dr Alfred Akawe Torkula was born on July 10, 1944 at Tse Torkula in Mbadwem District of Guma Local Government area of Benue State. Dr Alfred Akawe Torkula attended the Tiv N.A Elementary School Gboko from 1953-1958 and St. Theresa Catholic Primary School Naka in 1959.

The Lion of the Tiv nation Tor Tiv Alfred Akawe Torkula has been buried today.
