The 33-year-old rapper let loose on her fellow hip hop star during an interview in the newest issue of Marie Claire, on which she is the cover model.
Taking aim at Kanye’s 2005 single “Gold Digger, Nicki said: “I’m so tired of black women feeling that when our men get rich, they’re going to leave them for a woman of a different race.”
“Then he get on, he’ll leave your ass for a white girl,’ — and Kanye happens to be with a white girl now,” she continues, alluding to the 39-year-old’s marriage to Kim Kardashian. “It wasn’t funny when he said it; it was the f—king truth.”
Gauntlet. Thrown. But the “Anaconda” singer didn’t stop there, as she also used Kim herself as a way to illustrate the media’s double standard when it comes to race.
“When Kim Kardashian’s naked picture came out, [Sharon Osbourne, who compared Nicki’s ‘Anaconda’ cover artwork to ‘cheap porno’] praised it, and my fans attacked her for being such a hypocrite,” she says.
“So it wasn’t trashy and raunchy when a white woman did it, but it was when a black woman did it? It’s quite pathetic and sad, but that is my reality, and I’ve gotten accustomed to just shutting it down.” Clearly, Minanjesty is not backing down, so everyone else had better take note!
